Providence

By Jakob Martin

I think that I missed Providence while flipping through the pictures on my phone.
Rode out of Rhode Island and I wondered whether anyone would know.
And you know I love to travel but I hate to be away.
On this lonely river gravel I'll drop anchor here some day.
Until I do I'm telling you that everything's amazing.

Well then I break down in the parking lot,
straight out of your line of sight well,
nobody's gonna see me melt down.
Nobody's gonna see me cry these
tears on the pavement,
roll out in a rainy night well
nobody's gonna see me melt down.
Nobody's gonna see me cry.

I snuck up to the second floor.
The musty bedroom where my mother played.
I found a note she wrote her mom a week after her father passed away.
It said 'I know it hurts to laugh now but we've got to move along'.
And I had a painful chuckle at the thought that she was gone.
And this feeling crept across me that I'd never had at home.
Oh so thankful for the solitude,
the chance to be alone.

And I break down in the parking lot,
straight out of your line of sight well,
nobody's gonna see me melt down.
Nobody's gonna see me cry these
tears on the pavement,
roll out in a rainy night well
nobody's gonna see me melt down.
Nobody's gonna see me cry.

And all the things that you'd never thought you'd miss
they are the perfect imperfections,
they linger like a kiss.
Oh, all the treasures that I find along the way;
I'm collecting them like passengers
I'll bring them home someday.
Alright.
Alright.

Break down in the parking lot,
straight out of your line of sight well,
nobody's gonna see me cry.
Tears on the pavement,
roll out in a rainy night well
nobody's gonna see me melt down.
Nobody's gonna see me cry.

Girl Like You

By: Jakob Martin

Sometimes I think about your eyes,
where the ocean meets the sky,
I see the colors making love,
at the horizon and
so many thoughts about the time.
And how I wish I met you sooner.
The things that I will do, for your attention and

He looks at you,
like he lives for you.
And it must be so easy too.
And I know oh that you love him too.
If I could turn back the time,
I would surely,
steal you for mine.
Cause I'll will never find,
another girl, like you.

I have heard you sing your song.
I have hung on every silence,
waiting for the word that will set me free and
I have tried to move along,
I am frozen in defiance.
Hoping for a chance at a harmony and

He looks at you,
like he lives for you.
And it must be so easy too.
And I know, oh that you love him too.
But if I could, turn back the time,
I would surely, steal you for mine.
Cause I'll never find another girl like you.
If I could, turn back the time.
I would surely, steal you for mine.
Cause there will never be, another girl like you.

Fiction and Friction

By: Jakob Martin

It has been more than a year.
I haven't made love with anyone.
Fiction and friction appear.
Drinking my imagination.
I haven't cried over you.
I realize how petty that sounds.
But I could care for anyone.
You are the one I'd take you right here on the ground.

I love the sugar of skin.
I love the waste of a camisole.
I love the trouble we're in.
Feeling you shake like the rainfall.
I never lust over anyone.
No I wouldn't waste that much time.
But I could dream of anyone.
You are the one,
baby you are the one you are mine oh mine.

You are mine oh mine.
I never die over anyone.
Mine oh mine.
You are mine oh mine.

I'll be the word on your lips.
I'll put my weight on your hips.
We'll be the color of wine.
In the deep summertime.
And if it is good to be bad.
I'll be the worst you ever had.
Oh and I've got to draw the line,
baby don't stop until your mine oh mine.

Don't stop until you're,
don't stop until you're,
baby don't stop until you're mine, all mine.

Sin and the Bones

By: Jakob Martin

Why do they make it so hard?
Why do they make it so hard to get by?
Honestly I, feel like I'm taking a chance on my life.
I just want to see the world.
I just want to see the world on my own.
Flying by night,
flying by freeways and exits and streetlights.
Yeah and I swear,
to the night,
I won't forget just what this feel like.
And my friend,
in the fight,
soon you will know,
no one can phrase it just right.
When we come,
to our own,
out of that storm,
yes you will know,
when we come to our own.

Well I shout a curse to the wind.
How could I ever have been so uptight.
Breathing out fire
Now I'm the candle that dances in your eyes.
Yeah, under the sin and the bones,
under this packaging we call our homes,
baby we'll find,
something we wanted is here on the inside.
Yeah and I swear,
to the night,
I won't forget,
just what this feels like and my friend,
in the fight,
soon you will know,
no one can phrase it just right.
When we come,
to our own,
out of that storm,
you will know when we come to our own.

To our own.
Oh oh oh oh.
Oh oh oh oh.

And I swear,
to the night,
I won't forget,
just what you feel like and my friend,
in the fight,
soon you will know,
no one can phrase it just right.
When we come.
to our own,
out of that storm,
yes you will know,
when we come to our own.
